The Witches Wreath

“Amber journeys home through the hills of western Pennsylvania on a stormy night after receiving a life-altering letter from an old love. But when her car breaks down, she must find her way on foot revisiting haunting memories and the reason she left.”

I wanted to make a book cover that embodied deep longing. I used a mixture of deep rich greens and pale yellows to represent good and bad memories and feelings. The mountains and hills give the reader a bit of insight on where the story is taking place. I modified an existing type to make the title both serious and playful, while also adding some witchy vibes.

I decided to add a symbol into center of the book cover to so that the reader has can visualise it when it does get mentioned in the story. It also helps set the tone, by mixing sharp shapes and lines with soft circles. The symbol shows two different personalities coming together to make them whole.
